Although there may be several exceptions typically Small below 22 ton generally do not have variable outrigger positions, and counterweight configurations. So the majority of the load charts for these are relatively short and simple. The 22-75 ton start adding different boom modes and outrigger positions. The telescopic above 75 tons typically incorporate all of the complexities as the smaller along with variable counterweight configurations requiring longer load charts. This topic was also brought up at the Federal MyCompany signup portal stake holders meeting with absolutely no opposition. Because of standardization of tests it is not possible to have operators testing with every possible boom length all out there may have, some parameters must be set. So weather you operate a telescopic boom or a lattice during the practical test no telescoping is permitted anyway the boom must be in a fixed position. A single part of line on a is more difficult to operate than an eight part line this is why our test uses a single part.
